Overview

Copyrights are used all over the world for a variety of different reasons. Some are used in books, or for company logos, or for movies. There are many reasons why someone would want to copyright their work and ideas. Copyrights are used so that nobody is allowed to steal the copywriter’s ideas, and or benefit from them.

Copyrights are essential when it comes to our own web pages. Everyone in the entire world has access to the ideas and materials that we post on our web pages. For example I have the right to pictures taken at my wedding by my photographer. She has given me written permission to use the pictures. I am able to post the pictures on my website. However anyone looking at them cannot use them without her permission. This is a way that she protects her business.

When we copyright our work we are able to sue anyone who uses our work without our permission it legally protects us. This way we are the only people who gain from our own creativity and ideas. If a copyright is posted to our websites then we have the legal right to uphold it anywhere in the world.

It is very important for anyone’s website to not violate copyrights as well. The website I am using as a source for this paper(linked and listed at the top of this assignment) had a list of tips to follow to ensure we do not violate someone else’s copyright I have listed a few below;

“As much as possible, use pictures that are known to be in the public domain. “ “Don't download graphics that are obviously copyrighted. These include company logos, graphics from sites owned by corporations, pictures from sites owned by art galleries, and pictures from portfolios of individual artists.”

In conclusion just remember that whoever created the image, or wrote the words is the owner, and the creator, and the work is theirs.

Adherence

On my website I have followed copyright laws completely. I reference every source I use on all of my learning reports. As well all of my work is my own. The pictures that I post on the website are my own and I have rights to them all.

My logo was created from a website offering free clipart. I found the image and then I photo shopped it and created my logo to personalize it.

Any use of material from samanthaswerid.net for personal gain will have legal action brought against them. The only person who may authorize the use of this material is Samantha Swerid. Everyone who enters this site is welcome to read this policy, and are required to adhere to this policy.
