All About Yours Truly
When writing this I considered starting at the very beginning and sharing all the small details about how I grew up, however most of you who will be reading this have known me for a long time now and probably know those details as well as I do. So I will just give you all the short version about myself.
I was born 2 weeks late on Oct 2 1988 in Calgary Alberta; I weighed just over 6 pounds. I had meningitis when I was 3 months old which has caused me to lose some of the hearing in my left ear. I often have ringing ears and other symptoms to this day because of illness.
am the oldest of 3 kids. My brother Matt (he is 2 years younger than me) and my sister Sarah (who is almost 7 years younger than me.) We are all very close still and I love to spend time with them.
I attended Acadia Elementary School until I was 11, then I went 1 year at David Thompson Junior High School. Unfortunately after only 1 year there my parents forced me to attend FFCA (Chartered Academy), that’s right I had to wear a kilt every single day. It was awful. Fortunately I met one of my best friends there, Terri! I got my first job at 14 at Tim Horton’s and started saving money to run away from home so I could dress like a normal person again! (ok ok that running away part is a joke). After 2 brutal years I was able to attend normal school again and finished my high school days at Lord Beaverbrook High school.
During those high school days I worked 2 jobs, one at Dairy Queen, and one at Arby’s. Surprising to most people I loved working fast food. I don’t remember much from high school, I hung out with my friends Linda and Courtney a lot though.
My highlight from high school would be when my family took a 2 week vacation to Disney Land. It was the first time I had been and it was amazing. I loved every minute of it. It is officially my favourite place in the world!
After High School I went to school at Brigham Young University Idaho. I had an amazing group of first semester roommates. I am still close to some of them today. I signed up to go on a study abroad to Europe during this semester. Unfortunately the waiting list was long. In the meantime I convinced my parents to let me buy a car. I got a Toyota Yaris brand new! I still consider this to be one of the biggest accomplishments of my life. I loved that car!
The year before I went to Europe I met Tyler in my introduction to business class. I felt like I had known him my entire life and we became almost instant friends. We kept in touch all through the winter when I was home in Canada and we started dating the summer I came back to school.
The next semester (fall 2008) I left for Europe! The trip was amazing. I went to Rome, Venice, Florence, Munich Germany, Berlin, Austria, Prague, Switzerland, London, France, and almost everywhere in between. I spent my 20th birthday in Venice Italy on a Gondola ride! It was amazing. I loved the trip Europe was a great place. Traveling is one of my most favourite things to do.
When I got home Tyler and I did long distance for 8 months as I went back to Canada. After that we got engaged on my 21 birthday! First I spend my birthday in Europe and then I get engaged on my birthday the next year! I don't know how I will be able to top it next year!
On Jan 2 2010 we got married!!!! We are now living in Rexburg trying to finish school so we can move on with our lives! I graduate in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing Dec 2010, except after that I will still be require to do an internship. Tyler will graduate the semester after me. We are so excited to be done!
